Ghanaian golfer and defending champion, Vincent Togarh has once again raced to an early lead at the 2022 Lebreville Open Championship on day-1.

Togarh regularly hailed as ‘MR CONSISTENCY‘ himself, cooled down considerably during the round garnering a 4-under par 68, leading his closest contenders including the duo of  Pristy FON Nji and Gabonese player Andre Ntoutoume by three shots, after both players tied for second at 1-under par respectively on day-1.

Also tied third on the leaderboard heading into day two of the tournament are Samba Niang and Kenyan professional Robson Chinoi who both shot a day-1 score of level par each.

On the other hand Kawai Technologies sponsored player Sunday Olapade ended his first  round with an overall score of 1-over par,  placing him in a solo fifth on the leaderboard and five-shots behind the leader Vincent Togarh.

“It wasn’t a bad day at all for me, just that some aspects of my game were not clicking as expected. “I missed a couple of putts and that’s just the only sluggish part of my game today. Tomorrow will be better” said Sunday Olapade who also won the event in 2018 as he remains hopeful heading into day-2 of the tournament.

Meanwhile, day one show was a far cry for five time winner of the Lebreville Open Championship trophy Brice Moukagni after shooting a first round 6-over par 78 and finishing as low as tied 21 on the leaderboard heading into day 2.
